Trail: Through a dusting of snow on the Upper Mountain Gully Creek (Easy, 1km, 25min, Ascent 50m)

This short loop starts at the creek's waterfall (which had a slight dusting of snow this week), and continues downstream before cutting back along an old logging track. The path might suit those who do not wish to stay far from the falls, yet experience both native and pine forest areas in a relatively short distance. In spring, this area will be covered in wildflowers.

This was a preliminary recce, which became a bit slippery at the bottom of the path as the snow started to re-freeze. The creek itself was fairly easy to follow along a series of small falls and fern tree gullies . (The creek itself continues on for another 2-300m before crossing Axel Avenue and commencing a much steeper descent towards the intersection with Harolds Cross Creek.)

Unfortunately, the temporary respite from Lawyer Vines after the fire looks like it has ended with significant strong regrowth.

There was the occasional bunyip.
