Flooding 9 August 2020

COVID-19 travel restrictions have kept me on my farm for much of this year: a source of dismay knowing so many others are in such dire circumstances. I have found some solice in renewing my connection with the land in a detail only possible because of the other horrors of the year.

Drought and fire have now been followed by flood - 214mm (8.5") in 24 hrs knocking down fences, flooding the flats and creating a multitude of waterfalls.

It certainly has been a hell of a year so far. The farm although a bit damp looks like a good place to isolate. Take care

I hate being unable to be with my mum (5 hrs drive away) through all of this. It is frightening how little we actually know.
