The present form of the Port of Scarborough started to take shape about 1250AD. While the location of prior docks (Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Viking or early Norman) is speculative - as is the form and starting point of the new port activity. As all of these periods form part of the backdrop to the film Quodlibet, we have had to make a couple of guesses about the port at different stages.
In our shots from 1254 and 1264 we have represented the old dock in both working state and disrepair and the old dock started to take shape under the shadow of Castle Hill.
