Anomaly near Lesser Magellanic Cloud
While shooting Geminids on 15 December 2014, I came across the anomaly. It is most likely to be a flash from a small asteroid, but the third frame seems to indicate the absence of an associated very faint 9th magnitude star. While unlikely, might this be an extinction ?
Under high magnification, but with no post-processing other than addition of a target circle. These are 13 second frames.
